Een versleten koppelingskorf kan de beweging van de platen belemmeren en daarmee de werking van de complete koppeling beïnvloeden.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eSymptomen van een versleten koppelingskorf\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSlijtage aan de koppelingskorf is vaak zichtbaar als groeven of inkepingen op de plaatsen waar de frictieplaten contact maken met de korf. Wanneer de nokken van de platen in deze groeven blijven hangen, kunnen de koppelingsplaten niet meer volledig vrij bewegen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDit kan zich uiten in een koppeling die schokkerig aangrijpt, moeilijk doseerbaar is of niet volledig ontkoppelt. Sommige uitvoeringen zijn sterker of lichter dan de originele korf, waardoor ze beter bestand kunnen zijn tegen zware belasting en snelle lastwisselingen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEen lager gewicht kan de roterende massa in het motorblok verminderen, maar het werkelijke verschil in gasrespons en motorkarakter hangt sterk af van de constructie van de complete koppeling.
