The Chemical Guys Light Clay Bar is the safest and most effective way to remove pollution from the paint. Flex-Clay technology simply removes light syringe, railway dust, brake dust, pollution and dirt.
How does that clay work?
Over time, pollution and oxidation build up in the pores of the paint. Then we are not talking about the ordinary dirt that you can remove with washing, but hard or tough components that are firmly stuck on the paint.
This layer ensures that both the color and the appearance of the paint are less good. Compare it with a mirror: in a dirty mirror you see the reflection much less good.
Your paint works like a mirror: the glass layer is the white paint, the reflective back is your color layer. Light bounces through the white varnish, is reflected by the color layer, and reaches your eye as, for example, 'Metallic Green'.
If there is dirt on the mirror, the color is less visible and therefore comes into its own less beautiful.
With clay you clean this stubborn pollution and light can penetrate well in the paint again, and efficiently reflect to your eye.
What does this pollution have?
Two things: color difference and loss of gloss depth. Think of it as a polluted mirror: in a dirty mirror you see your own reflection less clear. Imagine that this reflection is the color of your motorcycle; You look in the reflection of the light, but You see the color less sharp. That sharpness is equivalent to color difference, the color looks less like the color when your engine came new from the factory.
Loss of gloss depth: you look through the pollution to your lacquer, making it less beautiful shiny.
Do you know that lifeless paint, which no longer looks like new?
Nine out of ten times that is not caused by discoloration or damage, but simply by stubborn dirt on the paint. Your lacquer layer may be undamaged (no scratches or discoloration), but does not look lively. With clay + Luber you can remove that pollution and see your paint again as new from.
Clay and waxing
Many people do not clay their paint before they wax. The result is that you apply an expensive wax about pollution, and therefore protect contamination against ... pollution. Clay your paint after washing, so that you actually apply the wax to the paint, instead of pollution.
Wash-Kleien-Waxen Step-by-step plan
1. In the case of heavy pollution: pre-wash the engine with foam, so that dirt is soaked loose.
2. Wash the paint thoroughly with an All Purpose Cleaner (APC), such as AllClean+, in combination with a smooth shampoo, such as Mr. Pink.
3. Take a piece of the clay and spray this with Clay Luber. Make sure your clay is always sufficiently lubricated, so that it does not continue to crochet on the paint.
4. Now clean the paint in long stripes, in the longitudinal direction of the engine. Continue until the lacquer feels smooth.
5. Return residue with a clean microfiber cloth, such as the Peluche Verde. Work by panel so that the Clay Luber cannot dry in.
6. Dry all the panels thoroughly and now apply the wax. Two recommended for this Collinite 845 Insulator Wax and Chemical Guys Hydroslick Ceramic Wax.
Always work clean and make sure that no sand or other hard dirt can enter the clay. Clean thorough and careful. Always throw your clay away immediately if you drop it or if sand has unexpectedly arrived here.
