Bij geselecteerde oudere uitvoeringen kunnen ook andere kleuren voorkomen. Zwart zorgt voor een subtiele, bijna originele uitstraling. Ze veranderen de constructie of stijfheid van het frame niet, maar zorgen ervoor dat grote openingen en zichtbare bevestigingsdelen minder opvallen. Vergelijkbaar gevormde frames kunnen toch andere diameters, dieptes of bevestigingsmogelijkheden hebben. Een framecap die los in de opening zit of geforceerd gemonteerd moet worden, is niet de juiste uitvoering.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eEenvoudige maar zorgvuldige montage\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDe montage is bij veel uitvoeringen relatief eenvoudig. De cap wordt in de betreffende opening geplaatst en vervolgens met de centrale bout vastgezet. Daarbij klemt het achterliggende montagedeel zich in het frame vast.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDraai de bout gelijkmatig aan en gebruik niet meer kracht dan nodig. Te strak vastzetten kan de cap, het klemsysteem of de geanodiseerde afwerking beschadigen.
