EJK KEY FEATURES

  • NO COMPUTER NEEDED
This EFI controller is one of the only ones on the market which allows a large range of adjustability without the use of a computer. We like to use the term 'on-the-fly' tuning. You can literally drive the vehicle, make setting adjustments, and instantaneously feel the results. Obviously for safety purposes we recommend you pull over to the side before making adjustments. Some after-market EFI controllers like to claim 'on-the-fly' tuning which to them means toggling only between a couple preset maps. The controller actually has 11,390,625 available maps in the unit which are accessible without using a computer program to reprogram the unit. There does exist a computer program called POWERLAB and the controllers can be reprogrammed by a computer, but most users do not require this ability. Why deal with the complexity? It's an Electronic Jet Kit to make fuel injection tuning easy, simple, and fast so you can enjoy more time riding.

  • NO DYNO REQUIRED
You do not have to be a professional mechanic or tuner and have access to a dynamometer in order to tune your vehicle with the EFI controller. Knowledge and good equipment obviously are a huge plus, but you can do just as good a job and sometimes better by tuning in real world riding situations. The controller allows this by breaking down a drive cycle into very understandable zones to make adjustments. Most controllers have the basic Idle/Cruise, Acceleration, and Full Throttle zones to adjust. Every rider can understand this terminology. The greatest advantage about tuning your vehicle yourself is your ride will be custom set up to your driving style.

  • Plug N' Play Installation - Minutes to Install, Base Settings are Preset
All of the offered controllers are plug n' play installations and can be done in a manner of minutes instead of hours. All you have to do is locate the OEM injector connections on your vehicle. Most of the time this will only require you to remove a few components to gain access to these injector connections. A number of new applications will also require you to find the O2 connections on your vehicle if present. Power for the unit is gained through the injector connections and a black ground wire just needs to be attached to the negative terminal on the battery if present or by a metal screw onto the vehicle frame. After physically installing the controller in most cases you are all set to go on a test ride. The unit comes pre-programmed for a stage 1 setup for each application. After your initial test ride you then can make some fine tune adjustments which may be required based upon your modifications.

  • Uses Unique Load Based Technology
The controller uses Load Based Technology which sets it apart from most of the competition. Most EFI controllers use what is called 'Alpha-N' Tuning Technology. Alpha-N tuning is associated with just using Throttle Position (TPS) and RPM as the factors to make tuning adjustments. Load Based Technology differs by using Rate, TPS and RPM as the key factors for adjustment. Load Based tuning allows a user to tune their vehicle for every gear and for all riding conditions. Load can easily be explained by stating that riding up a hill puts more "load" on the vehicle than driving on a flat road, but yet the same TPS and RPM can be achieved in both circumstances.

  • Offers Full Range Tunability
The controller is sold as an Electronic Jet Kit. Like carburetor jet kits of the past the controller offers a range of adjustability to tune your vehicle. Instead of physical jets and needles the controller has this adjustability built into the unit and can quickly be adjusted while riding the vehicle. Essentially with all EFI vehicles software has replaced some hardware. The controller can be installed and set to actually allow the user to still run a stock configuration, but allows the user to ADD or PULL fuel within easy to understand tuning zones.

  • Does Not Interfere with Stock ECU Operation
This is a very common feature of all after market EFI controllers, but needs to be stated to reassure all end users. The controller does not trip any engine codes or affect the ECU operation in any way.

  • Simple Push Button Adjustment Interface
The controller offers 'on-the-fly' adjustment using three push buttons on the label interface. The three buttons are labeled MODE, PLUS, and MINUS. With power supplied to the box by either starting the vehicle or just turning the key on, the adjustment modes are accessed by pressing the MODE button. Light setting changes are then made for each respective mode by pressing the PLUS and MINUS buttons. No extra tools are required to make tuning adjustments.

  • Water-Resistant
The hardware components within the controller are covered with a substance to make the controller water-resistant. The controller is still an electrical device and without this coating would short-circuit when in contact with water based substances. The controller is NOT 100% water proof, but will continue to function properly through rainstorms, snow, washing your vehicle, etc. Watch this YouTube video

  • 2-Year Warranty
The controllers come with a two (2) year warranty from date of purchase against original defects in materials and workmanship. Should the controller fail to perform then the manufacturer will repair or replace the unit to the original retail purchaser at no charge except for shipping charges back to the manufacturer. Proof of purchase may be required.

NOTE: DO NOT cut any wires or apply dielectric grease to the terminals inside any connectors. Doing so will automatically void the warranty on your EJK controller.

The controller does NOT void any OEM vehicle warranty. A common mispractice of dealers is to tell customers certain products will void their newer vehicle's warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects consumers from this practice.

  • Compact Size - 2.2" H x 3.4" W x 0.5" D
The EJK controller is one of the smallest controllers on the market and is equivalent in size to a credit card. The small size helps with installation to place the controller in locations not to affect the handling of any vehicle and still allow access to make adjustments if necessary.

EJK BASICS

Like any electronic device you need to know the basic operations before you can fully start to use the equipment. Don't worry though this controller is the simplest EFI controller on the market and we will have you making adjustments in seconds. There is NO COMPLEX SOFTWARE program for you to learn. Only three parts of information and you are ready to start tuning.
  1. Be Able to Understand the LED Display
  2. How to Refer to Light Settings
  3. How to Adjust the Modes

CONTROLLER LED DISPLAYS:

The following displays show you an actual visual representation you may encounter with your controller. A short description is provided to explain the LED display.

NO POWER Start-up Scrolling
All LEDs are blank. Applying any 9-12 Volt POWER source and a proper GROUND to the correct inputs should display some LED lights. If the unit fails to show any lights then either the installation is incorrect or the unit is faulty. LEDs are displayed GREEN moving from position 1 to 8 and back again. The Start-Up Scrolling is displayed for a few seconds upon initial power applied to unit. Length of time is dependent on application and may not happen at all.

NO SIGNAL Channel 1 NO SIGNAL Channel 2
LED in position 1 blinks GREEN and LED in position 8 blinks RED. LED display shown when no injector signal is being inputted on channel 1. Display could be normally shown when just turning on the key to a vehicle which applies power to the injectors, but no injector signal is generated. Can also be displayed upon de-acceleration in some vehicles where the stock ECU shuts off the injectors. Could also signify an error in installation where the channel 1 connectors are loose or a possible break in the harness wiring. LED in position 2 blinks GREEN and LED in position 8 blinks RED. LED display shown when no injector signal is being inputted on channel 2. Signifies an error in installation where the channel 2 connectors are loose or a possible break in the harness wiring. Check your connector which has a GREEN / GRAY STRIPE wire and a RED wire. Also check your connector which has a SOLID GRAY and a RED wire.

NO SIGNAL Channel 3 NO SIGNAL Channel 4
LED in position 3 blinks GREEN and LED in position 8 blinks RED. LED display shown when no injector signal is being inputted on channel 3. Signifies an error in installation where the channel 3 connectors are loose or a possible break in the harness wiring. Check your connector which has a RED / BLUE STRIPE wire and a RED wire. Also check your connector which has a SOLID BLUE wire and a RED wire. LED in position 4 blinks GREEN and LED in position 8 blinks RED. LED display shown when no injector signal is being inputted on channel 4. Signifies an error in installation where the channel 4 connectors are loose or a possible break in the harness wiring. Check your connector which has a WHITE / GREEN STRIPE wire and a RED wire. Also check your connector which has a SOLID GREEN wire and a RED wire.

NO ACTIVE Base Zone ACTIVE GREEN ZONE
LED in position 1 blinks very slowly GREEN. Display is shown when none of the three base zones (Green, Yellow, Red) are active. The unit is functioning correctly, but fuel adjustment in the base zones will have no affect. Typically shown for applications where no idle fuel is needed. Notice the blinking rate is considerably slower than when in the adjustment modes. LEDs are displayed a solid GREEN when the GREEN zone is active. The number of LEDs displayed as a solid GREEN will vary based on the load on the engine. Fuel can be adjusted on the fly with the GREEN adjusting mode when the GREEN zone is active.

ACTIVE YELLOW ZONE ACTIVE RED ZONE
LEDs are displayed a solid YELLOW when the YELLOW zone is active. The number of LEDs displayed as a solid YELLOW will vary based on the load on the engine. Fuel can be adjusted on the fly with the YELLOW adjusting mode when the YELLOW zone is active. LEDs are displayed a solid RED when the RED zone is active. The number of LEDs displayed as a solid RED will vary based on the load on the engine. Fuel can be adjusted on the fly with the RED adjusting mode when the RED zone is active.

ACTIVE OPTIONAL ZONE MULTIPLE ACTIVE ZONES
The 8th LED can be set to turn on a solid BLUE for a number of optional zones when they become active. Optional zones include voltage controllers, boost applications, nitrous control, or an Accelerator Pump to name a few. In some cases like when applied with the Accelerator Pump the BLUE LED will come on for very short instances. For boost applications the BLUE LED is enabled as a good diagnostic tool to determine if the pressure sensor is working correctly. The BLUE LED is displayed in conjunction with the current ACTIVE zone being either GREEN, YELLOW, or RED. For a few rare applications, the LEDs will actually alternate back and forth between multiple colors. This occurs when a base zone ALLOWS another base zone to continue fueling. Typically the YELLOW base zone will turn off the GREEN zone when it becomes active to only allow one fuel adjustment. In this display case however, both the GREEN and YELLOW zones are active which means fuel can be adjusted on the fly with both the GREEN and YELLOW adjusting modes. RED-YELLOW, RED-GREEN, and RED-YELLOW-GREEN alternating lights are also possible.

ADJUSTING MODES 0.5 LIGHT SETTING
The ADJUSTING MODE is entered by pressing the MODE button. Pressing the MODE button multiple times will move you through all the available adjusting modes which can be up to six modes. Not pressing ANY BUTTONS for several seconds will exit the ADJUSTING MODE, save your light setting positions, and take you back to basic operation displays. Take note that each button is very SENSITIVE and MAY result in you skipping a mode or a light setting position. Within the ADJUSTING MODE you will see either one or two GREEN, YELLOW or RED LEDs flashing at a moderate rate. You may also see the 8th LED flashing BLUE which means you are within the 4th, 5th, or 6th ADJUSTING MODE. The light setting number is determined by the left flashing LED position plus 0.5 if the next LED is also flashing. In the above example, this is a light setting of 2 for the GREEN MODE. A light setting of 0.5 has a unique flashing rate compared to all other light settings to help distinguish it from a light setting of 1. A light setting of 0.5 blinks twice as fast as the light setting of 1. The above example is showing a light setting of 0.5 for the GREEN MODE.

UNDERSTANDING LIGHT SETTINGS:

There are fifteen (15) light settings for each enabled mode. Instead of needing a computer software to change a tune-up all a person needs to do is adjust the light settings while the controller is powered up. Controllers come programmed with recommended starting settings, but may be required to be changed based on your modifications. Settings are always stated in the correct mode order and followed with the light setting value. Example: GRN-2, YEL-3.5, RED-5, GB-2, YB-4, RB-4.5. The whole number indicates the first LED position which should be blinking. A half step (0.5) will consist of the next LED to the right also blinking. The settings of 0.5 and 1 and differentiated by the speed at which the LED blinks. Look at the images below to get a better idea of how to refer to light settings.

ADJUSTING MODE - YELLOW 1.5 ADJUSTING MODE - RED 4.5
LEDs in position 1 and 2 are both blinking YELLOW. This is referred to as a YELLOW setting of 1.5. This display means you are in the ADJUSTING MODE and currently have control to ADJUST the YELLOW zone fuel. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to move the light setting. LEDs in position 4 and 5 are both blinking RED. This is referred to as a RED setting of 4.5. This display means you are in the ADJUSTING MODE and currently have control to ADJUST the RED zone fuel. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to move the light setting.

ADJUSTING MODE - GREEN-BLUE 5.5 ADJUSTING MODE - RED-BLUE 8
LEDs in position 5 and 6 are both blinking GREEN and the LED in position 8 is blinking BLUE. This is referred to as a GREEN-BLUE setting of 5.5. This display means you are in the ADJUSTING MODE and currently have control to ADJUST the GREEN-BLUE feature. The GREEN-BLUE feature varies between applications so you will need to consult your instructions to know what this mode is adjusting. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to move the light setting. The LED in position 8 is blinking and alternating between RED and BLUE. This is referred to as a RED-BLUE setting of 8. This display means you are in the ADJUSTING MODE and currently have control to ADJUST the RED-BLUE feature which is currently set at the max setting. The RED-BLUE feature varies between applications so you will need to consult your instructions to know what this mode is adjusting. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to move the light setting.

ADJUSTING THE MODES:

The controller comes with three interactive buttons that are used to enter the adjusting mode and change the on-board tuning features' light settings. When power is applied to the unit, the adjusting mode may be accessed at any time by pressing the MODE button. The adjusting mode is distinguishable by at least one or more LEDs flashing. The current adjust mode is determined by the color of the flashing LED(s) and whether or not the 8th LED is blinking blue. The adjusting mode is exited by waiting several seconds without pressing any buttons. Upon exiting, the light setting is automatically saved for each individual mode.

The light settings in each mode are adjusted by pressing the PLUS (+) and MINUS (-) buttons located on the right and left side of the mode button, respectively. For easy reference, the LEDs are numbered 1 through 8. However, the LEDs can be adjusted to the following positions: 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8. Try the interactive Flash Demo below to get used to adjusting the modes and understanding the light setting positions.

The most important thing to understand about this controller is that every application can have different features enabled. Please consult your instructions to check which features are enabled for your application.
