Chemical Guys - V32 Extreme Waterbased Polishing Compound

What does it do?

V32 is an Extreme Polishing Compound, the coarsest of Polishing Compuunds used in detailing. This is a Cutting Compound, designed to remove heavy paint imperfections and deep scratches.

Can be used with a Dual Action Polisher or Hand Pad. Depending on how deep or many the scratch(es) are you'll start with the Orange Pad (Light Cutting, heavy*) or White Pad (Polishing, light) to remove scratches from the surface.
The Finishing Pad is used to remove the last imperfections and leave a mirror finish.

Why?

The best reflection and colour comes from a mirror-smooth surface. The light needs to be able to penetrate the clear coat the best it can, so you see the most lively colour and metallic effect (where applicable) from your paint. Besides that, it ensures that wax adheres to the surface better.
Polishing the surface of the paint ensures that you see the clearest and brightest colour, and that your paint looks as fresh as it did the day your motorcycle left the factory.

Polishing Compound

A heavy pad is paired with a coarse compound, the finishing pads are used with the finer compounds.

Advice:

Orange Pad with V32 or V34
White Pad with V34 or V36
Black Pad with V36 or V38

Protection

You don't want to have to polish your paint every few weeks, so make sure to apply a proper protection. Most people focus on cleaning, sometimes paired with polishing, but protection is the most important step.

Use a good wax with a long-lasting wax, such as HydroSlick ceramic wax (ca. 12 month) or a butter-wet Collinite 845 Carnauba wax (ca. 5-6 months)

(*) the Orange Pad is called Light Cutting because there are coarser polishing grits, for a Hand Pad this is a heavy polishing pad.
