Brake Fluid Reservoir

Brake Fluid Reservoirs for Brake and Clutch Systems

Replace a standard plastic reservoir with a high-quality Aluminium or carbon version that matches the pump and application

An external fluid reservoir supplies the brake or clutch pump with sufficient hydraulic fluid and accommodates small level changes. Because the reservoir is clearly visible mounted on the handlebar or near the rear brake, the component also greatly influences the motorcycle's appearance.

  • Reservoirs for front brake, rear brake, and hydraulic clutch
  • Compact 12ml and larger 25ml versions
  • CNC-machined Aluminium and genuine carbon available
  • Various outlets and mounting brackets
  • Reservoirs and accessories from CNC Racing and Brembo

In this collection, you will find universal and model-specific fluid reservoirs for pumps with an external reservoir. The products can be combined with, among others, Brembo and Nissin systems, provided that connection, fluid, capacity, and mounting position are technically suitable.

A reservoir is not suitable for a brake or clutch pump with a fully integrated fluid reservoir unless the pump is specifically modified for that purpose.

Choosing 12 ml or 25 ml

A compact reservoir of about 12 ml is often used for a rear brake or hydraulic clutch. A larger reservoir is generally used for the front brake because the system may have more brake pistons and a greater volume change.

Do not choose the capacity solely based on appearance. Follow the recommendation of the pump or reservoir manufacturer and ensure the fluid level remains clearly visible and checkable.

Aluminium or carbon reservoir

CNC Racing offers machined Aluminium reservoirs in various anodized colors. For certain versions, the reservoir body and lid are sold separately, allowing you to create your own color combination.

Additionally, carbon reservoirs are available in matte and glossy finishes, optionally combined with a colored Aluminium lid. Always check which parts are included with the chosen product.

Outlet and mounting bracket

The position of the hose outlet determines how the fluid hose runs to the pump. Sets with straight, 45°, and 90° adapters offer more options to prevent kinks and unwanted bends.

Mount the reservoir as straight as possible and sufficiently high relative to the pump. The hose must run downward without air pockets, sharp bends, or contact with hot and moving parts.

Fluid and seals

Check whether the reservoir and internal rubbers are suitable for the prescribed DOT fluid. Do not automatically use a reservoir for DOT 3 or DOT 4 with mineral hydraulic oil.

Do not fill above the maximum and ensure the diaphragm and lid are correctly installed. Brake Fluid must not leak through the vent point when the handlebar moves.

Installation and inspection

Use a suitable fluid hose and sturdy clamps where prescribed. After installation, check all connections for leaks and fully bleed the hydraulic system.

After the first ride, recheck that the reservoir, bracket, hose, and lid are securely fastened. If in doubt, have brake system work performed by a brake specialist.
