CNC Racing and Micro Sapiens/Materya have joined forces to create these improved winglets for the Streetfighter V4. Great design with improved airflow, to combine form and function. With the ever increasing performance of Ducatis, it is getting more important than ever to improve the front wheel downforce as well, which is exactly what CNC Racing have done on this kit.
The base of the winglets consists of durable nylon, with a carbon outer, so as to give the best technical improvement, lowest weight and killer looks, giving the V4 more downforce and improving the esthetics.
Project Idea
Ducati launches an absolute novelty in the world of the naked segment. It is in fact the first naked bike that uses aerodynamic appendages to develop a downforce to guarantee more stability at high distances. We therefore focused on creating a wing system that is less demanding in terms of aesthetics and that integrates better with the design of the bike.
PROGETTAZIONE E STILE
We analyzed the wing section of the original winglets, preserving and significantly reducing it to reach a compromise in terms of function and aesthetics. We then relied on CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) calculations to verify adequate downforce for road use (75% compared to the original configuration). For the realization of the wing profiles and the support structure we used the HP Multijet 3D printing process, which guarantees excellent resistance and lightness properties associated with complete freedom of design and shapes, while for the aesthetic part we opted for the carbon fiber which has always been known for its extraordinary qualities of lightness and resistance.
